Hello! My name is Ashley, the maker behind Leopard Dog Woodcraft. I’m originally from San Diego, CA, and now happily based in Groveland, CA - nestled in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills just outside Yosemite National Park in Tuolumne County.

I began my woodturning journey at a young age, learning to make pens on a mini lathe with the help of my parents. Every year I gifted these pens to my classmates as part of school gift exchanges in sports and band. Years later, I decided to share my work more widely after completing college-level fine woodworking courses in San Diego which were focused on hand tool joinery, wood turning, and musical instrument construction.

With Leopard Dog woodcraft, I focus on creating handcrafted home decor pieces such as bud vases, bowls, and other one-of-a-kind pieces, each turned by hand in my small home based workshop. As a woodworker, I love highlighting the features naturally found in different pieces of wood such as unique grain patterns and shifts in color.

Outside of the shop, I enjoy 3D modeling and spending time outdoors exploring the Sierra foothills with my two dogs - both Catahoula Leopard Dog Mixes.

Thank you for stopping by and supporting handcrafted art. Feel free to explore my work or reach out—I’d love to connect!
